Bestuurlijk overleg met wethouder Jan Willem Stoop van de gemeente Drimmelen inzake het waterschapsproject ‘inhaalslag Keur en oneigenlijk grondgebruik’.
5 april
PHO over de A27 en een introductiegesprek met de nieuwe contactambtenaar van het waterschap voor de gemeenten Drimmelen, Geertruidenberg en Oosterhout.
Daarna een bestuurlijk overleg met een ingehuurde vertegenwoordiger van RWS inzake onze zienswijzen/inzichten met betrekking tot de waterschapsbelangen bij de voorgenomen verbreding van de A27. Onder andere: de zorgen over de gehanteerde normen voor de waterkeringen bij de afrit Geertruidenberg en bij de mogelijke tracé varianten bij de afrit Raamsdonksveer (A59), de waterstuwende effecten door de realisering van een nieuwe brug bij Geertruidenberg (afstemming RWS droog, RWS nat), de beschermingszone van onze afvalwaterpersleiding langs de A27, voldoende bergingscapaciteit en de juridische status van de wateradviezen van de betrokken waterschappen.

De informatiebijeenkomst in Waspik over de inzet van de Overdiepse Polder als waterberging bij hoog water met onder andere de presentatie van ons draaiboek bij hoog water en inundatie van de polder en uitleg over de procedure van het claimen van schade als gevolg van een eventuele inundatie.

Voorafgaand aan deze bijeenkomst ben ik bij de treurwilg gaan kijken in de Overdiepse Polder waarover ik vorige week schreef. De boom bleek goed onderhanden genomen door de boomploeg van de gemeente Waalwijk. Hij is gehavend, maar nu hij gestabiliseerd is kan hij een eventuele zomerstorm vermoedelijk goed doorstaan. Gezien zijn geschiedenis is de kans groot dat hij zal herstellen. Samen met het opnieuw op te bouwen oorlogsmonument zal hij door zijn aanwezigheid de wereld kond blijven doen van wat er gebeurd is in de strijd van de slag om Kapelscheveer, maar ook van de levenskracht van deze boom en de samenleving waarin hij zich bevind.
De afgelopen week heb ik het boekje “Building blocks for good water governance” gelezen. Ik kan het, één ieder die belangstelling heeft voor water en de bestuurlijke invulling daarvan in de wereld, aanbevelen.
Ik heb tijdens mijn rondrit door de Overdiepse Polder ook genoten van de aangelegde ecologische verbindingszone (EVZ) langs het Oude Maasje. Over een paar seizoenen zal dit zowel voor de natuur (bevers) en voor de (fiets)recreanten een aanwinst blijken te zijn.
