Geacht Bestuur,
De discussie over zoet/zout van het Volkerak/Zoommeer systeem gaat een nieuwe fase in. Zout wordt nu nader onderzocht. Belangrijk daarbij is de zoetwatervoorziening in West-Brabant en Zeeland voor de landbouw en industrie.
Bij ondergetekende bestaat de indruk dat de ogen van Evides zich nu extra richten op de mogelijkheden om extra water te onttrekken aan de Brabantse Wal en aan de polders aan de voeten van de Wal.
Op zich is dat logisch, maar uit het oogpunt van ecologie en de verdrogingsproblematiek is dit zeer verontrustend.
Ondergetekende is vooral verontrust over de initiatieven van Evides voor waterwinning in de polders. Peilhandhaving dient het uitgangspunt te zijn. Onttrekkingen kunnen ook de kweldruk doen toenemen, waardoor verdroging van de Brabantse Wal kan toenemen.
Ondergetekende verzoekt Uw bestuur de belangen van de natuur en landbouw hier nadrukkelijk te behartigen en geen experimenten toe te staan, waarvoor de onderbouwing inzake de hydrologische effecten vraagtekens kan oproepen.
Ondergetekende verzoekt Uw bestuur nadrukkelijk het AB vroegtijdig te informeren inzake de eventuele waterwinningsprojecten in en uit de polders aan de voet van de Brabantse Wal.
