Geacht Stembureau,
De afgelopen 24 uur heb ik veel reacties gehad over de gevolgde stemprocedure bij de lopende verkiezing. Met name ouderen en allochtonen voelen zie ernstig benadeeld. Reeds heden morgen om circa 7.00 uur verzond ik in dit kader naar Anton Merks een mail met mijn ervaringen. In veel gezinnen van ouderen maakt, zo is gebleken, één persoon de post open en sorteert deze. Dit zelfde geldt in nog sterkere mate voor gezinnen van allochtonen, die vaak een wat traditionele rolverdeling kennen. Ook is door de relatief veel voorkomende mindere taalbeheersing in allochtone gezinnen vaak één persoon verantwoordelijk voor en belast met de postafhandeling. Vaak zijn dat de oudere kinderen, terwijl vader de post al heeft opengemaakt.
Het feit dat achteraf niet meer is te reconstrueren bij welk persoon het stembiljet hoort, is er de oorzaak van dat veel stembiljetten van ouderen en allochtonen ongeldig zullen worden verklaard, omdat code en geboortejaar niet meer zullen kloppen.
Een lijst zoals Ons Water, met twee allochtonen kandidaten, is in deze extra getroffen want op deze wijze zullen juist deze kandidaten een aantal voorkeurstemmen missen en daarmee de gehele lijst stemmen. Ook een partij als het CDA zou op deze wijze onevenredig in haar belang getroffen kunnen worden omdat die partij relatief meer oudere kiezers kent.
De nu voor veel kiezers volstrekt onbekende stemprocedure had veel beter via de media gecommuniceerd dienen te worden.
Nu aantoonbaar bepaalde groepen kiezers, lijsten en kandidaten in haar belang onevenredig zijn getroffen, verzoekt de kiesvereniging Ons Water het stembureau van de Brabantse Delta de lopende verkiezing ongeldig te verklaren.
