(NATTE/ZOUTE) DROOM OF NACHTMERRIE: TUSSENSTAND PETITIE – 2
De landsregering heeft de “ontwerp-rijksstructuurvisie Grevelingen en Volkerak-Zoommeer” vastgesteld en daarmee het voornemen kenbaar gemaakt een beperkt getij terug te brengen in het Volkerak-Zoommeer en deze wateren op termijn te verzilten.
Op 14 oktober zijn wij de petitie “STOP DE VERZILTING VAN HET VOLKERAK-ZOOMMEER” gestart. Op 1 januari 2015 hadden 931 mensen deze ondertekend.
Er werden in 2014 bij de petitie 95 opmerkingen gemaakt die vrijwel allen de wens tot zoet blijven van het Volkerak-Zoommeer onderschreven c.q. motiveerden. Wij zullen de komende weken een aantal van de opmerkingen via de facebook pagina van Ons Water onder uw aandacht brengen. De onderstaande drie opmerkingen van even zovele ondertekenaars waren alle gedateerd 15 oktober 2014:
- “Als Bergenaar heb ik deze kwestie vol verbazing gevolgd. Altijd gedacht dat de minister van I en M toch nooit groen licht zou geven, dus toch wel! Met de huidige ontwikkelingen wat betreft de waterkwaliteit totaal 350 miljoen uitgeven lijkt me volstrekt verkeerd, belachelijk zelfs. Als recreant van het gebied kan ik meepraten over de huidige waterkwaliteit, minstens 5 jaar helder, waterplanten en vrijwel geen overlast van blauwalg. Dat het nog niet structureel ”goed” is weten we, maar geeft het een ieder geval een kans…
- “Als visser is het al triest te zien dat de visstand zwaar onder druk staat door (beroepsmatige) overbevissing. Helemaal een doodzonde dat potentieel een van de mooiste viswateren waar heel lang een goede en mooie populatie vissen van diverse soorten wordt verkwanseld voor feitelijk niets anders dan nostalgie.”
- “Je ziet het gewoon aan de vissen in het Volkerak dat ze het daar goed naar hun zin hebben momenteel. Ze zien er gezond en wel doorvoed uit, waarom dan nu nog ingrijpen? Verzilting is echt niet meer nodig. Het zou jammer zijn als dit gebied terug zout zou worden.”
