’s Morgens de DB vergadering met als eerste agendapunt een presentatie door Harry ter Braak van WagenaarHoes over de strategische heroriëntatie van Aquon, een samenwerkingsverband van negen waterschappen voor water gerelateerd onderzoek en advisering. De resultaten waren de afgelopen jaren niet wat van de samenwerking mocht worden verwacht. Er blijkt een toekomst! Er kunnen zaken beter en er hadden zaken vanaf de start beter gekund. Als ik even de pet opzet van raadslid van de gemeente Bergen op Zoom denk ik: laten we maar snel een dergelijk onderzoek ook doen naar de Omgevingsdienst Midden- en West-Brabant. Daar lopen nu de verliezen de spuigaten uit en ik sluit niet uit dat daar dezelfde soort zaken beter kunnen als nu geconstateerd word bij start van Aquon. Ook daar zou het misschien dienstig zijn om als deelnemende organisatie de rol van eigenaar en gebruiker van elkaar los te koppelen.
Andere onderwerpen waren onder andere: duurzame vergisting, de natte natuurparel Lage Vuchtpolder, de actualisatie van de communicatievisie en ook de aanpak van wateroverlast. Voor mij was er ook een leerpunt bij die stukken. Het KNMI maakt zelfs een weersverwachting voor het komende voorjaar! De kans op een natter dan normaal voorjaar wordt op zo’n 70 % geschat en dat is allemaal te danken aan de zeer sterke El Niño van 2015/2016 die eind november heeft gepiekt.
In de avond een bijeenkomst van de werkgroep bestuurlijke vernieuwing waarin vooral de bijeenkomst met de fractievoorzitters op 16 maart werd voorbereid, de eerste BOB discussie op 17 februari werd geëvalueerd en gediscussieerd werd over hoe het onderwerp besturen op hoofdlijnen aan te pakken.
Deze week heb ik ook het boek “Bouwen aan de delta” gelezen, waarin alle inzendingen voor de Prof. Dr. Ir. J.F. Agemaprijs 2015 werden toegelicht. Een lezenswaardig inspirerend boek. Met mooie voorbeelden hoe er op tal van plekken in vooral Nederland, maar ook in de rest van de wereld door Nederlanders en Nederlandse bedrijven gewerkt wordt aan vaak multifunctionele waterbouwkundige werken.
