OVER WATER – 42
Als het over water gaat krijg ik soms zaken onder ogen die schreeuwen om algehele verspreiding. Zo tipte mij gemeenteraadscollega Abdelaziz (Aziz) Danjaoui (PvdA) mij over het project ‘Spraakwater’.
Hij is beleidsmedewerker/projectleider riolering en water bij de gemeente Steenbergen. Binnen de gemeente Steenbergen had het project ‘Spraakwater’ gedraaid. Kinderen uit de groepen 7 en 8 van de diverse basisscholen in de gemeente Steenbergen zijn daarbij alles over water te weten gekomen. Spraakwater is een educatief project over duurzaamheid en bewustwording over wat met water en het gebruik daarvan te maken heeft. Door het project moesten de kinderen zich bewust worden van water en het duurzamere gebruik van water. In dit kader zijn vier formidabele videoclips gemaakt. Klik de longlist eens aan. Kijk, geniet en leer van een viertal leuke clips gemaakt door leerlingen van de basisscholen: Merijntje, Gummarus, Petrus & Paulus en van Pius X en De Nieuwe Veste.
Het is echt de moeite waard om alle vier de clips te kijken. Voor mij een prachtig voorbeeld hoe scholen van water een thema kunnen maken op een manier waarvan ik denk dat de kinderen een herinnering meekrijgen voor het leven en echt zullen onthouden wat water en de kwaliteit er van voor hen betekent. Dagelijks Bestuur met als agendapunten onder andere: de kadernota 2017-2026, de jaarstukken 2015, de projectevaluaties 2015, een uitvoeringskrediet voor Nieuwveer, de strategische heroriëntatie Aquon, de managementletter 2016 en de portefeuilleverdeling van het DB.
Aan het begin van de middag een portefeuillehouderoverleg over de Westelijke Langstraat en daarna een overleg met de dijkgraaf. Daarna ben ik naar Nuenen geweest voor een overleg met een gemeenteraadslid in voorbereiding op de waterschapsverkiezingen van 2019.
25 mei
Een bestuurdersbijeenkomst over de “Klimaat Actieve Stad” (KAS) in Amersfoort, waar een aantal dagelijks bestuurders vertelden over hun projecten in dat kader. Tevens waren er een tweetal presentaties. De eerste was door Geanne van Arkel van Interface over hoe een tapijttegelmaker qua duurzaamheid het verschil probeert te maken. Daarna een verhaal van Harmen Zijp van de Coöperatieve Universiteit van Amersfoort met een verhaal over lokale initiatieven rond klimaatadaptatie.
In de avond een bijeenkomst van de werkgroep bestuurlijke vernieuwing van het waterschap.

In de morgen de Hart van Brabant PHO Ruimtelijke Ordening en Volkshuisvesting te Waalwijk met onder andere agendapunten over het Vitaal Leisure Landschap, de regionale inbreng in het uitvoeringsprogramma van het Provinciale Milieu- en waterplan en de regionale inbreng voor de provinciale omgevingsvisie. Ook was er een discussie over de gebiedsopgave Loonse en Drunese Duinen.
In de middag de Ravelijnlezing te Bergen op Zoom. Ik heb een viertal lezingen bijgewoond. “Slimmer onderhoud als vliegwiel” door Pieter Raes. Tal van voorbeelden werden gegeven van hoe robots ingezet kunnen worden op plaatsen waar inzet van mensen problemen geven. Zeker als het over de inspectie van bijvoorbeeld riolen, tanks of afvalwaterleidingen gaat, liggen hier mogelijk tal van onvermoede mogelijkheden. Daarna “Hoe fieldlabs maintenance innovaties versnellen” door Paul van Kempen. Hij maakte helder dat, om innovaties van de grond te krijgen, je bereid moet zijn om ze te proberen en je daarbij anderen moet durven te betrekken. Vervolgens de lezing van Commodore Mario Verbeek commandant van het Logistiek Centrum op vliegbasis Woensdrecht. Een aantal citaten van hem, die ik optekende, zijn:
- je moet relevant blijven in een veranderende wereld
- de wereld draait om informatie
- de enige constante is verandering.
Hij is op zoek naar ‘zwarte zwanen’. Mensen van buiten zijn organisatie/netwerk die hem en zijn organisatie kunnen helpen te vernieuwen. De laatste lezing was van Michiel van der Maat. Die “je maintiendrai” vertaalde in “Je zal onderhouden!”. Helder was in zijn betoog dat uitstel van onderhoud uiteindelijk leidt tot meer kosten.
