Een boekwerkje dat ik gelezen heb is het maatregelenboek “optimalisatie bodem en water“, “praktische tips voor bodem en water in de agrarische bedrijfsvoering”, een uitgave van landbouw op peil. Hierin staan veel praktische suggesties voor maatregelen die agrariërs zelf kunnen treffen om de bedrijfsvoering, ook bij een veranderend klimaat, rendabel te houden. De suggesties zijn zowel gericht op water vasthouden, als op voorkoming van langdurig water op het land, van bolle (akker)percelen, grondverbetertechnieken tot drainage technieken, inclusief zaken als ‘boeren-berging’, grondwatergestuurd peilbeheer, egaliseren en vlaklegging, verbeteren bodembiologie, enzovoorts. Kortom voor iedere waterschapsbestuurder, die met landgebruikers als boeren wilt samenwerking om te komen tot een klimaatadaptief beleid, een boekwerkje dat je gelezen moet hebben.
Deze week ook gelezen een boek met de fraaie titel “Ambtenaren!” met de subtitel: “200 jaar werken aan Nederland in 100 portretten”. Voor bestuurders van provincies, gemeenten en waterschappen het lezen waard. Water komt ruim aan bod. Ook de waterschappen zijn terug te vinden in de portretten. Twee wil ik in het bijzonder vermelden. Hendrik Jan Eggink met de titel: “Schoon water in onze sloten en beken”, en Jan Kienhuis met de titel: “Metamorfose van de waterschappen”. Het boek is een Sdu uitgave.
