Geacht Dagelijks bestuur,
Recent heb ik bij het Dagelijks Bestuur van het waterschap Brabantse Delta aandacht gevraagd voor de situatie rond het Drongelens Kanaal.
Bij ondergetekende zijn een aantal vragen binnengekomen omtrent het beheer en een vergunningverlening rond het water dat in Bergen op Zoom ingesloten wordt door de straten Sint-Jacobsschelp, Nonnetje, Strandgaper en de Markiezaatsweg.

Welke overheid beheert het betrokken water?

Wie beheert de oevers van het betrokken water?

Wie is eigenaar van het betrokken water en de oever langs de Markiezaatsweg?

Zijn er, vanuit het waterschap, (behoudens een werkstrook) bezwaren om bomen te planten op de oever langs de Markiezaatsweg?

Het waterschap heeft een vergunning verleend voor de bouw van vlonders op de oever van het betrokken water langs het gebouw ‘het Nonnetje’. Het ontwerp van die vlonders is zodanig dat ze over de oeverbeschoeiing steken. Ondergetekende verkeer in de veronderstelling dat dergelijke vlonders efficiënt onderhoud van het water en de oevers hinderen. Hoe is dan een vergunningverlening voor dergelijke overstekende vlonders te rijmen met het waterschapbeleid, c.q. het steven van het waterschap tot een efficiënt water en oeverbeheer?
De informatie van ondergetekende is, dat het waterpeil in de Ligne (tussen Fort Pinssen en Vrederust) opzettelijk/kunstmatig is verlaagd. Dit in een gebied waar het waterschap veel geld en moeite heeft gedaan het gebied te vernatten. Het lage waterpeil heeft consequenties voor de biodiversiteit en het aanzicht van de waterlinie. Ook moeten de grachten rond Fort de Roovere nu regelmatig opgevuld worden middels een tractor met pomp. Een dergelijke actie kost vermoedelijk honderden euro’s per keer en is niet duurzaam. Het gebied is nu droger dan gewenst.

Waarom is besloten het waterpeil in de Ligne opzettelijk/kunstmatig te verlagen?

Wat zijn de motieven tot deze verlaging?

Hoe is de verlaging te rijmen met de vernattingsdoelstellingen van het gebied?

Hoe past de verlaging in de kwaliteitsdoelstellingen van de waterlinie?

Wat kost de herhaaldelijk pomp activiteit rond de grachten van Fort Roovere en wie draagt daarvan de kosten?
