Geacht Dagelijks Bestuur,
Vanuit schapenhouders in de regio Bergen op Zoom krijgt ondergetekende de vraag of, en zo ja, waarom de verpachting van dijkpercelen aan schapenhouders wordt afgebouwd. Als voorbeeld wordt genoemd het niet meer verpachten van een dijkperceel gelegen zuidelijk van het gemaal De Pals.
De fractie Ons Water/Waterbreed heeft naar aanleiding van het bovenstaande de volgende vragen:
- Wordt dit dijkperceel en eventueel andere dijkpercelen niet meer verpacht aan schapenhouders?
- Zo ja, is hier sprake van een beleidswijziging?
- Indien hier sprake is van een beleidswijziging wat is hier van de reden.
Tot op heden is begrazing door schapen, naar de idee van de fractie Ons Water/Waterbreed, een goede onderhoudsmethode gebleken, met een goede worteling van gras als gevolg en daarmee een duurzaam behoud van een gesloten grasmat. Naar de waarneming van aanliggende agrariërs leiden de één à twee keer maaien per jaar tot meer onkruiden en overlast op hun percelen. Graag een spoedige reactie.
