Als deze vergunning verleend wordt krijgt de beroepsvisserij toestemming te vissen in een Natura 2000 gebied. Dat komt mij vreemd voor. Ik verkeerde in de veronderstelling dat dit voor de natuur beschermde gebieden waren. Ook de sportvisserij roept op tot actie!
Wat is de reden om voor deze vorm van natuur aantasting te kiezen? De economische waarde van de beroepsvisserij op het Volkerak/Zoommeer is gering ten opzichte van de economische waarde van de sportvisserij. Veel watersporters bezoeken de havens rond het Volkerak/Zoommeer vanwege de geweldige waarde die deze wateren hebben voor de sportvisserij. Nu lijkt het er op, terwijl de financiering van de verzilting nog niet rond is, er met leegvissen wordt begonnen waarmee de natuur en de sportvisserij grote schade wordt toegebracht en daarmee de huidige verdiencapaciteit van de recreatie verder wordt ondermijnd.
