In de middag een ‘watermiddag’ op Bouvigne. Circa 800 bezoekers die kennis kwamen maken met de tuin, het kasteel en bij de diverse kraampjes, informatie kwamen halen over water en het waterschap Brabantse Delta. Kees de Jong en ik waren aanwezig om eventuele vragen te beantwoorden.

Een borrel op fort Altena ter gelegenheid van het ontwerptracebesluit A27. Het valt mij dan op dat, ten opzichte van mijn eerste vergadering over de A27 in juni 2011, er vrijwel geen bestuurders meer zijn van toen. Ik had het idee de enige te zijn uit die tijd. De vraag voor mij is dan: wat betekent dit voor de kwaliteit van de bestuurlijke inbreng? Hoeveel ervaring en kennis van het dossier gaat bij de klaarblijk snelle wisselingen van bestuurders verloren?

Een Dagelijks Bestuursvergadering en een bilateraaltje met de dijkgraaf. Binnen mijn portefeuille vallende onderwerpen waren: de intentieovereenkomst Zuiderwaterlinie en de doorstart van de gebiedsinrichting Westelijke Langstraat. Voor het circa 600 ha grote gebied worden hydrologische maatregelen voorbereid en genomen om de PAS en Natura-2000 doelen voor natte natuur te realiseren. De provincie neemt de grondverwerving op zich en de natuurambities worden zodanig aangepast dat zij aansluiten bij de hydrologische ambities van het waterschap. Tevens is afgesproken om de oorspronkelijke hoge natuurambities te versoepelen en te combineren met integrale gebiedsontwikkeling ten behoeve van het draagvlak in de streek.

In de morgen een portefeuillehoudersoverleg over de scenario’s van het dijkverbeteringproject Geertruidenberg/ Amertak.
In de avond eerst een fractieoverleg en daarna een thema AB over de vele aspecten aan duurzaamheid.
