Wachten kan niet meer
Recent verscheen het rapport “Bronnen van antibioticaresistentie in het milieu en mogelijke maatregelen” van het Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM). Het RIVM rapport bevat als zodanig niets nieuws. Ik schreef over dit onder werp eerder het artikel “resistente bacteriën en onze zuiveringen” en in Over Water 68 over de STOWA bijeenkomst op 1 december 2016 over de mogelijke aanpak van onder andere dit probleem. Het viel mij op dat er nu in de media ruime aandacht was voor het probleem, echter zonder dat de waterschappen werden bevraagd over de aanpak van dit steeds dreigender wordende volksgezondheidsprobleem. In Zwitserland wordt het aangepakt en lopen er tal van onderzoeken via (proef)opstellingen bij waterzuiveringen, waarover op het VSA-Plattform “Verfahrenstechnik Mikroverunreinigungen” veel wordt gepubliceerd. In Zwitserland en Duitsland heeft men reeds besloten dat de aanpak van medicijnen in waterzuiveringen geen uitstel meer verdraagt en gaat men aan de slag met een grote variëteit aan methoden. Wel allemaal gebaseerd op twee hoofdlijnen (oxidatie en/of absorptie door actieve kool). Onderbelicht blijft nog de mogelijkheid van de inzet van membraantechnologie. De ontwikkeling van resistente bacteriën is slechts één van de redenen om snel aan de slag te gaan met de aanpak van microverontreinigingen en geneesmiddel restanten. Een schandaal als rond GenX is een tweede reden. De aanpak verdraagt geen uitstel meer. De waterschappen moeten met dit onderwerp snel aan de slag en mogelijk vergt dit een andere wijze van financiering. In het huidige denken: ‘de vervuiler betaalt’ zou een heffing op geneesmiddelen logisch zijn !

Vandaag een hele reeks portefeuillehoudersoverleggen. Onder andere over: Het dijkverbeteringproject Geertruidenberg/Amertak, de Keenesluis, een zwaluwenwal, het Dongedal, het Markdal en het project Noordrand Midden. Daarna naar de receptie geweest van het 25 jarig bestaan van het Markpontje in Terheijden, waar ik samen met wethouder Harry Bakker van de gemeente Drimmelen een tochtje met het pontje maakte.

One thing I have actually noticed is that there are plenty of misconceptions regarding the banking companies intentions while talking about foreclosed.
