Modern Asfalt 2
Op het artikel Over Water 104 (‘modern’ asfalt) heb ik de nodige reacties gekregen. En of de duivel mij wil helpen, verscheen ook het bericht over Los Angeles dat nu zijn wegen grijs aan het schilderen is met als doel het verlagen van de temperatuur in de stad, wat de leefbaarheid zou verbeteren. Men verwacht met het schilderen een verlaging van de grondtemperatuur met 7 graden. Greg Spotts, assistent director of Bureau of Street Services of Los Angeles, hoopt dat het project andere steden inspireert om te experimenteren met verschillende aanpakken om het hitte-eilandeffect tegen te gaan. Ik hoop dat ook. De meest aansprekende reactie kwam van Piet Zijlstra van PolyCiviel Civiele Techniek Advies, die aangaf dat zij lichtreflecterend asfalt hebben ontwikkeld, dat overdag in hoog zomer 8-10° minder warm wordt en in het donker veiliger en energiebesparend zou zijn.

De kennismaking van de dijkgraaf met de organisatie en de Netwerkdag van de Noord-Brabantse Waterschaps Bond met daaraan gekoppeld een rondrit door de Noordwaard en een bezoek aan het Biesbosch Museum.

Opname Omroep Brabant in de Overdiepse Polder over wat de Amerikanen zouden kunnen leren van de Nederlandse Aanpak van het waterbeheer.
