OVER WATER 172: DE KIESLIJST
Ons team is rijk aan ervaring en kennis benodigd voor het kwalitatief invullen van het besturen van het waterschap. De komende tientallen jaren zullen in het kader staan van het gaan realiseren van de klimaatopgaven waarvoor gemeenten en waterschappen staan. Onze lijst bevat de namen van 34 enthousiaste kandidaten. Die gezamenlijk veel bestuurlijke relevante ervaringen hebben. 7 (oud) waterschapsbestuurders, 15 (oud)gemeenteraadsleden, 3 oud wethouders, vier oud statenleden, 3 waterbeleidsambtenaren van gemeenten (Drimmelen, Roosendaal en Steenbergen) en een oud-ambtenaar die zijn hele werkzame leven bij waterschappen en de rijksoverheid met water is bezig geweest. Een eigenaar van een wateradviesbureau en 3 meesters in de rechten. We hebben ook kandidaten uit de sportvisserij en de recreatie sector. Kortom ons team barst van de ervaring en kennis die wij graag ter beschikking stellen van het waterschap. Ons Water combineert bestuurlijke en inhoudelijke kennis over water verkregen op waterschap-, gemeentelijk- en provinciaal niveau.
Ons Water is een onafhankelijke waterkiesvereniging. Noodgedwongen in 2008 tot stand gekomen toen de politiek in Den Haag besloot tot afschaffing van het personenstelsel en tot invoering van het lijstenstelsel waarmee de politiek en politieke partijen hun intrede deden in het waterschapsbestuur
met als gevolg het verlies aan veel partijloze, ervaren en betrokken waterschapbestuurders. ‘Welkom’ veelal qua water onervaren partijtijgers van de landelijke partijen. Alsof er liberale, christendemocratische of socialistische dijken, waterlopen, gemalen of zuiveringen bestaan. Er moesten wat partijgenoten aan een bestuursfunctie geholpen worden.
Ons Water staat al jaren voor deskundigheid en betrokkenheid. Ook als er geen verkiezingen zijn laten wij al jaren, middels onder andere de nieuwsbrief Over Water, de belangstellende kiezer weten wat, wij waarom doen.
