Fred Wozniak, geboren uit Poolse ouders, beide militair, die hier actief hebben meegeholpen aan de bevrijding. Pas na 13 jaar hebben zij besloten zich in Breda permanent te vestigen, omdat inmiddels wel vaststond dat terugkeer naar hun eigen vaderland onmogelijk werd gemaakt. Mijn vader had in de jaren voor 1939 in Polen een busbedrijf en was hier later automonteur.
Zelf ben ik in 1979 begonnen bij multinational IBM, als sales voor het midden- en kleinbedrijf. Na cursussen, reizen, trainingen en onderhandelingen in 1985 als zelfstandig ondernemer gevestigd. Deze periode inmiddels succesvol afgesloten in het automatiserings – millenniumjaar.
Vanaf 2006 ben ik bevoegd als register-mediator en als zelfstandige gevestigd (www.wozniak.nl).
Als vrijwilliger vele jaren actief in diverse verenigingen in mijn naaste omgeving, zoals zeven jaar penningmeester bij onze plaatselijke voetbalvereniging r.-k. VOV, tien jaar voorzitter van de EHBO vereniging in Langeweg, twee seizoenen als bestuurslid meegedacht bij de “Emmaüs”, vijf jaar betrokken geweest bij de Oosterhoutse “Abrahammendag” en tijdens verkiezingen in Oosterhout mede oprichter geweest van de huidige lokale politieke partij: “Onafhankelijk Partij Oosterhout” Deze partij heeft in 2014 de kiesdrempel niet meer gehaald. In Oosterhout was ik ook bedrijfsmatig gevestigd. In mijn eigen kern, Langeweg ben ik 10 jaar belangenbehartiger en voorzitter van onze wijkvereniging geweest. Nu al weer ruim zes jaar geleden was ik initiatiefnemer van de Moerdijkse voedselbank. Deze is door de inzet van vele vrijwilligers uitgegroeid tot een klantenbestand van ruim 125 personen. Iedere week weer een voedselpakket voor ieder, vele vrijwilligers zetten zich hier nu dagelijks voor in.
Het is in deze laatste periode geweest dat ik met contacten naar ons bestuur toe heb ervaren hoe moeilijk het is om belangen van mensen te vertalen in concrete resultaten. Steeds vaker machteloos moeten toezien hoe beloftes niet kunnen of worden nagekomen. De burger waar het allemaal om hoort te gaan kan wel aan vele loketten terecht maar daar stopt veel. Een gemeente is een complex samenspel van inwoners met hun belangen, ook tegengestelde. Efficiënt met tijd omgaan en streven naar een professionele organisatie staat bij mij hoog in het vaandel. Geen dingen beloven die je niet na kunt komen maar zaken beloven die je, binnen een redelijke termijn, nakomt! De keuze om actief deel te willen nemen aan de plaatselijke politiek werd nu al weer ruim tien jaar geleden gemaakt. Ook de keuze voor een partij was niet moeilijk. Lokaal en onafhankelijk: Onafhankelijk Moerdijk dus.
Hetzelfde nu voor de belangen van “Ons Water”. Lokaal en toch ruim van opzet. Mijn streven is om in een goed samenwerkende fractie sterk als “één man” naar buiten te kunnen treden. Een fractie waar de burger centraal staat en voor een mening van eenieder plaats is. Ook een fractie waar men tot een democratische en rechtvaardige besluitvorming kan komen. Met goed opgeleide bestuurders die midden in de samenleving staan en weten wat er onder de burgers leeft. Bestuurders die goed kunnen luisteren en vervolgens weten hoe ze de zaken moeten bereiken.
Voor uitdagingen geldt nu eenmaal: “hoe groter de kloof des te mooier de brug”.
