Hanneke Willemstein
Hanneke (1976) is sinds 2014 actief als gemeenteraadslid voor lokale partij GBSV in Alphen-Chaam de laatste jaren ook fractievoorzitter. Ze werkt als zelfstandig journalist en redacteur voor diverse opdrachtgevers. Hanneke heeft oog voor de mens achter het verhaal. Ook heeft ze warme belangstelling voor alles wat met kunst en cultuur te maken heeft en was ze onbezoldigd actief voor verschillende organisaties op dat gebied. Haar politieke motivatie is het (mee)bouwen aan een zelfbewuste samenleving.
Hanneke woont met haar man en vier kinderen in Chaam.
„Ik stel me verkiesbaar voor het waterschap omdat ik het belangrijk vind om beter voor onze kwetsbare omgeving te zorgen. Het waterschap klinkt vaak als een ver-van-mijn-bed-instantie, maar is voor onze huidige én toekomstige generaties ontzettend relevant. Het waterschap heeft o.a. als taken te zorgen voor droge voeten en voldoende schoon water. Daarnaast is natuurbeheer een belangrijk speerpunt. ‘Ons Water’ is niet gebonden aan een landelijke politieke partij of enig andere ideologische beweging. Transparantie en integriteit zijn voor ons de uitgangspunten van ons handelen. Wij willen er zijn voor burgers en bedrijven. Om onze doelen te bereiken is, naast intensievere samenwerking met bijvoorbeeld gemeenten, voor mij participatie erg belangrijk.
Met een van huis uit maatschappelijke betrokkenheid vind ik dat we samen verantwoordelijk zijn voor de wereld waarin we leven. Alleen commentaar leveren vanaf de zijlijn is dus te makkelijk; dan moet je er zelf ook iets aan doen. Mede hierdoor kwam ik in 2014 in de gemeenteraad van Alphen-Chaam voor de lokale partij GBSV Chaam. Raadslid ben ik nog steeds met veel energie en plezier. Vorig jaar ben ik benoemd tot voorzitter van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Raadsleden. Een hele interessante taak die ik enthousiast ben aangegaan. Wat ik belangrijk vind, is dat er vertrouwen is in de politiek, of beter gezegd: dat dit vertrouwen weer terug kan komen. Democratie werkt naar mijn idee het beste als volksvertegenwoordigers elkaar aanvullen. Ik wil binnen het waterschap op het gebied van burgerbetrokkenheid en -participatie graag meer invloed, zeggenschap en verantwoordelijkheid voor inwoners bij het omgaan met hun leefomgeving. Daarnaast zet ik me graag in voor een duurzame balans tussen mens en wereld, voor onze generatie én de generaties na ons.
