Vandaag een dag van portefeuillehoudersoverleggen (PHO).Tijdelijk heb ik een vijftal gemeenten overgenomen van collega van der Aa, die in afwachting is van een medische ingreep. Ik ben in een viertal PHO bijgepraat over de stand van zaken in en met de gemeenten: Alphen-Chaam, Baarle-Nassau, Breda, Rucphen en Zundert. Tevens een PHO over de afronding van het project Overdiepsepolder, een PHO over het dijkverbeteringsproject Geertruidenberg/Amertak en een PHO over de Keenesluis.
In de avond een informatiebijeenkomst Geertruidenberg/Amertak.

De vergadering van het Algemeen Bestuur met als agendapunten onder andere: de voordracht van de nieuwe dijkgraaf Kees Jan de Vet, die ik ken vanuit mijn Provinciale Staten periode (hij maakte toen deel uit van de CDA fractie), de vaststelling van het projectplan Roode Vaart door Zevenbergen (sinds 1 maart in mijn portefeuille, na enige discussie met algemene stemmen aanvaard), de zienswijze op de eerste begrotingswijziging 2017 en de conceptbegroting 2018 van Aquon (bij deze behandeling was ik de behandelend portefeuillehouder wegens ziekte van collega van der Aa, gelukkig kreeg ik hulp van collega Schots bij de beantwoording van een vraag waarop ik het antwoord schuldig moest blijven). Ook dit voorstel werd met algemene stemmen aanvaard.

Napraten informatiebijeenkomst Geertruidenberg/Amertak.
Presentatiebevindingen cultureel erfgoed van het waterschap en een discussie hoe daar in de toekomst mee om te gaan. Voor meer informatie over de geschiedenis, en daarmee over een deel van het erfgoed van ons waterschap, kijk eens naar het filmpje over die geschiedenis.

De opening van de “week van ons water” in Raamsdonksveer bij de Praxis. Samen met wethouder Kevin van Oort van de gemeente Geertruidenberg startte ik de actie steenbreek in de gemeente. Met deze actie kunnen burgers maximaal 2 vierkante meter stenen inleveren in ruil voor plantmateriaal en tuingrond. Deze actie is gericht op vergroenen van tuinen met als gevolg de aanpak van wateroverlast en vermindering van hittestress. In de Praxis had de gemeente en het waterschap een aantal voorbeelden ingericht hoe tuinen en daken meer klimaatbestendig ingericht kunnen worden. Het waterschap was onder andere aanwezig met een presentatie van onze activiteiten en liet zien, middels een waterbak, wat er gebeurt in gebouwde omgeving als het veel regent en welke maatregelen een burger kan nemen om wateroverlast en hittestress te voorkomen of te verminderen.
