Geacht Dagelijks bestuur,
In het projectenboek 2018 “mensenwerk” is te vinden dat in de top 40 van de meest gefotografeerde dijken en dijklocaties van Nederland West-Brabant niet voorkomt! In het besef dat West-Brabant ons werkgebied is en dat West-Brabant vele honderden kilometers dijken kent, waaronder vele kunststukjes en technische ‘wonderen’ van vele jaren ‘mensenwerk’ is het ontbreken van onze West-Brabantse dijken in de top 40 voor mij bijkans onverteerbaar.
De komende tientallen jaren zullen vele van onze dijken op de ‘schop’ moeten om ook na toetsing aan de nieuwe normen te gaan voldoen. Dat vergt draagvlak, bewustwording en medewerking van onze burgers, maar ook blijvende verslaglegging van wat er nu is.
Mijn idee: organiseer, mede ter voorbereiding van de komende waterschapsverkiezing, een fotowedstrijd met als thema ‘onze dijken’. Als waterschap kunnen wij hiermee ook een bijdrage leveren aan het uitdragen van de pracht van onze regio en daarmee aan de economische sterkte daarvan.
