OVER WATER 126: PHARIO EN WATERPUBLICATIES
Het waterschap initiatief Phario (PHA bioplastics) heeft de titel ‘Water Innovator of the Year 2018‘ gewonnen. Phario was één van de genomineerden tijdens de Water Innovator of the Year verkiezing die georganiseerd werd door het Watervisie platform.
PHARIO is een samenwerking tussen waterschap Brabantse Delta, Waterschap De Dommel, waterschap Scheldestromen, waterschap Hollandse Delta, Wetterskip Fryslan, Energie en Grondstoffen fabriek, SNB, HVC en Paques. De PHARIO partners ondersteunen ook verder onderzoek en ontwikkeling via Wetsus en TU Delft.
Bestuurlijk ben ik betrokken bij het waterschap Brabantse Delta. Ik vind het dan ook fantastisch dat onze medewerkster Etteke Wypkema zo’n prominenten rol speelt in de ontwikkeling van bioplastic uit afvalwater. Mijn complimenten aan allen die werken aan dit mooie en maatschappelijk belangrijke project.

- Recent is verschenen het Jaarbeeld 2017 van het waterschap Rivierenland. Voor mij het voorbeeld hoe een waterschap kan laten zien wat het in enig jaar heeft gedaan en waarom en hoe het waterschapwerk vorm krijgt. Een jaarbeeld wat navolging verdient.
- In het boek “Drinking Water” van de hand van James Salzman kwam ik de uitgifte in 1774 tegen van “Water Works notes” een vorm van bankbiljetten uitgegeven door de City of New-York. De waterwerken die met de uitgifte van deze biljetten werden gefinancierd waren niet alleen een geldrevolutie, maar waren ook een sociale revolutie. Een overheid erkende dat hier een taak lag voor de overheid om collectief een infrastructuur tot stand te brengen die belangrijk was voor de samenleving.
- Gelezen/bekeken het fotoboek “Met andere ogen” over de natuur in Zundert. De natuur die van Gogh inspireerde. Een prachtige fotoboek door Riet Pijnappels en Ed Michels.
