De eerste dag na de vakantie werd ik als DB lid uitgebreid ‘bijgepraat’ over de stand van zaken met betrekking tot de Overdiepse Polder, de komende uittreding van het waterschap uit de gemeenschappelijke regeling van het Regionaal Archief West-Brabant (RAWB) en de projecten in de gemeenten Gilze-Rijen, Dongen en Loon op Zand.
23 juni
Een symposium/workshop van PPSnetwerk Nederland te Utrecht over ‘asset management’ en geïntegreerde contractvormen voor het aanbesteden van onderhoud.
24 juni
Stuurgroep overleg Hart van Brabant in Tilburg over de stand van zaken van diverse samenwerkingsprojecten in het kader van doelmatig waterbeheer.
Daarna in Oudenbosch de vergadering van het algemeen bestuur van het RAWB.
In de avond in Breda de bijeenkomst van de werkgroep cultuur waar, nu met ambtelijke ondersteuning, met drie andere algemeen bestuursleden van het waterschap wordt na gedacht over hoe het algemeen bestuur meer aan het begin bij de beleidsvorming betrokken kan worden.
26 juni
Weer even bij praten op het waterschap over de toekomstige status van de dijk langs het Drongelens Kanaal en over de afwikkeling van de waterschapsdeelname aan het Regionaal Archief West-Brabant. Maar ook uitleg over de werking van mijn telefoon. Ik ben niet zo handig met z’n apparaat.
27 juni
Vandaag op excursie geweest met het Algemeen Bestuur met o.a. uitleg over afvalwater zuiveren en een bezoek aan de waterzuivering bij Bath. En een bezoek, met uitleg en wandeling, aan het anti-verdrogingsproject Jagerslust op de Brabantse Wal. Een exposé van onze muskusratvangers. En tot slot een bezoek aan de dijkverbeteringswerken in het kader van de waterberging op het Volkerak-Zoommeer met een busrit over de Markiezaatskade. Speciaal voor het gezelschap gingen de hekken even open. Wat dan opvalt is dat slechts gedeelten van de Markiezaatskade versterkt worden. Wat uiteindelijk qua landschappelijk schoon geen schoonheidsprijs zal opleveren. Wat ik zo mooi vond aan de compartimenteringswerken, die uitgevoerd werden in het kader van de Deltawerken, waren de strakke uniforme lijnen in het landschap. Dit nu is met de Markiezaatskade straks niet meer het geval. Terwijl er formeel in het kader van de Ruimte voor de Rivierprojecten een kwaliteitsteam van Rijkswaterstaat is voor de landschappelijke schoonheid, heb ik nu de indruk dat ze bij de beoordeling van dit project alleen oog hebben gehad om voor zo weinig mogelijk geld de veiligheidsnormen te halen. Een gemiste kans.
